Gone are the days when there exist archaic connotations about women. In this day and age, women are more empowered and driven. Cebuanas, most especially, embody the characteristics of a modern woman, and here’s why:

Cebuanas have always been more than what meets the eye and should never, ever be underestimated. Sure, they are sweet and nurturing, but a Cebuana rises around definitions of what a woman could be and what should become. A lot of Cebuanas nowadays continue to break stereotypes and have even built empires in what used to be male-dominated fields.

A Cebuana is more than capable of owning her identity, while still radiating poise and grace. As long as she sets her eyes on her goal, she is not going to restrict her drive by the construct of societal norms. Most especially, she still values and respects traditions in the midst of the challenges brought upon by the modern era.
With that being said, a Cebuana is unapologetic about the confidence that she exudes and believes in the beauty that she projects.

Beauty is also how we treat others,” wise words said by the native Cebuana entrepreneur, Demme Koch who is also an advocate of women empowerment and healthy beauty, during her interview with The Freeman.

When it comes to adversities, a modern Cebuana is always up for the challenge. Dressed with courage and resilience, they are always ready to inspire the world. A modern Cebuana is no damsel in distress, rather she is her own knight, fortifying her own strengths to face the world. She will not settle for less, but will make things happen.

One must not underestimate a modern Cebuana, for they are backed not only with decades of rich history but also with the learnings and advocacies learned from the modern century. They are forever evolving and ever-changing, but a modern Cebuana remains pure at heart, gentle with words, and stronger by soul. That is the beauty of a modern Cebuana and that is a beauty that comes from within.
